Who are we?

The WMP welcomes a diversity of members:

  • Founding Members who represent organizations from academia, and industry with a direct interest in the microbiome
  • Ex Officio Members who serve as non-voting observers from governments and intergovernmental agencies, foundations and civil society organizations
  • Associate Members at any stage of career development from around the world who self-nominate through the WMP application process

WMP Executive Council, WMP Working Groups

The WMP will be overseen by a WMP Executive Committee elected by the membership on two-year rotations. The WMP members will participate through Working Groups tasked with specific objectives and these Working Groups will report on their progress to the Executive Committee, to the membership at the biannual WMP Congresses, through peer-reviewed publications, through joint meetings with partner organizations and through other products of their endeavors.

Working Groups (WG) will be charged with addressing what role(s) the WMP can play in pressing issues which involve the microbiome. Outcomes from these activities can be peer-reviewed papers, joint meetings with relevant organ2847izations, identifying or developing funding opportunities or other products of their efforts.

The World Microbiome Partnership (WMP) is a non-profit association governed by the French national law of July 1, 1901, as amended, and its implementing texts, with a mission to extend its activities on a global scale. It brings together researchers, industrialists, and officials with the aim of enhancing human health within the ecological concept of « One Health », and also including animal, plant, and environmental health: air, water, and soil.
